Emma Roddick has welcomed an update on the work that is ongoing to dual the A9 between Perth and Inverness.
Yesterday [16th of January], local MSPs were invited to a technical briefing with Ministers and Transport Scotland to hear about how the work is progressing and ask any questions on behalf of constituents.
An announcement is expected in Spring 2024 on which contractor will receive the award to upgrade the road between Tomatin and Moy.
On the meeting, Emma said:
“I am grateful that Ministers and Transport Scotland gave us the opportunity to hear about ongoing work and ask questions our constituents have raised. I understand this will be a regular meeting as work progresses.
“I made sure to pass on concerns that constituents have been in touch with me about regarding safety improvements, engagement opportunities, and the Aviemore-Carrbridge NMU.
“I have been clear and have continued to raise the point of including all constituents who use the road in community engagement and feedback sessions – even those who do not live near the A9 – as so many folk need to drive through the A9 for onward travel.
“I am continuing to engage with Ministers and Transport Scotland to ensure constituent concerns are raised and work continues to progress within the published timeline.”
