As part of the nationwide Apprenticeship Week Celebrations for the week of 3 to 7 March 2025, Highlands and Islands MSP Emma Roddick visited Capgemini’s Inverness office to highlight the importance of apprenticeships in driving future talent and workforce development.
The visit saw Emma Roddick MSP engage with apprentices currently working at Capgemini, discussing the wide opportunities available within the technology sector. Capgemini, a global leader in consulting, technology services, and digital transformation, has been a strong advocate for apprenticeships, offering people the chance to gain valuable skills and experience in the workplace, whether they’re starting their first job or looking to reskill.
Apprenticeship Week is a nationwide celebration of apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses, and communities. The week highlights the importance of developing new talent and offers opportunities for people of all ages to discover the benefits of apprenticeships.
The SNP MSP said:
“I was delighted to join Capgemini to celebrate the incredible work being done in supporting the next generation of skilled professionals through apprenticeships, offering these to folks of all ages and backgrounds.
“Apprenticeships are a vital route for people to gain essential skills, and Capgemini’s commitment to fostering talent in Inverness and Nairn, growing their own, is commendable.
“This shows the Highlands and Islands at the heart of the technology sector, and it’s clear that the company has benefited greatly from engaging with groups that seek to bring women, veterans, autistic people, and other often-overlooked groups into exciting new jobs.
“I am proud of the work of the SNP Scottish Government in supporting apprenticeships and the ongoing commitment by Skills Development.”
