Emma Roddick MSP has praised the work of teachers at Brae High School and the Shetland Islands Council’s Youth Employability Service after a visit to the young people, who asked a range of questions about the impact of government decisions on the isles.
She said:
”I just love how engaged the young people in Brae were – clearly aware of current decisions taking place in Edinburgh and Lerwick, and how these affect their daily lives and futures.
“It is always really heartening to see young people who are aware of politics and have strong opinions. We even ran out of time to get through all the different areas of discussion – but I’m here to help all constituents, regardless of age, so, I reminded them that they are all able to reach out to me anytime.”
