Tha am pròiseact, a tha na cho-bhanntachd eadar UHI agus Ceòlas Uibhist, a’ cuideachadh le bhith ag adhartachadh agus a’ comharrachadh dualchas cultarach Gàidhlig Uibhist a Deas.

Bha e sgoinneil cluinntinn mu mar a tha an t-àite a’ brosnachadh dhaoine a thighinn còmhla agus barrachd ionnsachadh mu chànan is cultar na Gàidhlig, le ceòl aig cridhe tòrr de na tachartasan.

Fhuair an làrach maoineachadh bho Riaghaltas na h-Alba ann an 2017 agus bha e air leth brosnachail cluinntinn mu mar a chì an ìre ùr den leasachadh talla-cluiche, stiùidio dannsa agus àiteachan teagaisg a bharrachd air an togail.

It was great to spend some time with the team at Cnoc Soilleir earlier this week.

The project, which is a partnership between UHI and Ceòlas Uibhist, helps to promote and celebrate South Uist’s rich Gaelic cultural heritage.

It was brilliant to hear about how the space encourages people to come together and learn more about Gaelic language and culture, with music at the core of a lot of the activities.

The site was awarded Scottish Government funding in 2017 and it was really exciting to hear about how the new phase of the development will see a performance hall, a dance studio and additional teaching spaces built.
