EMMA RODDICK HEARS OF SUCCESS OF VICTORIAN MARKET REFURBISHMENT

Emma has heard of the success of the Victorian Market in Inverness after £1.8 million was invested as part of plans to revitalise the city centre.

Last week, Emma had a walk around the Victorian Market on Thursday to hear about how things were going since the renovation was complete and future plans for the space.

The plan is for the Victorian Market to be a space for people to connect and socialise with one another while supporting local businesses. With live music, independent shops, and local food vendors, the market is a vibrant location in the heart of Inverness.

Speaking after visiting the Victorian Market, Emma said:

“It was great to hear how well received the re-development of the Victorian Market has been since re-opening a few years ago, especially since plans for it came through during my time as a councillor, so it is fantastic to see how successful it has become.

“While I was there, I got to try Salt N Fire, one of the vendors who has recently moved to a new location in the hall. It is brilliant to hear how much success all the businesses within the market are having, as it is so important to shop local.

“The Victorian Market is exactly what the city centre needs – a space where people can go to socialise with one another while also supporting local businesses. I am looking forward to seeing what’s next for the market this year.”
