On Tuesday 22ND MARCH Highlands and Islands MSP and retiring Highland councillor Emma Roddick requested an explanation for ongoing delays in a final decision on the application by developer Bricks Capital to redevelop music venue Ironworks into a 162-bedroom hotel.
The application, initially due to be considered in March, has now been postponed twice. Members have most recently been told it is due to be considered in April, which will be the last meeting of South Planning Applications Committee before its members must either seek re-election or step down from the Council.
Speaking in committee, Roddick said:
“I note that the Bricks Capital application has now been postponed on a number of occasions. Can the officers give us an update on whether there have been any particular delays, if there are ongoing issues, and if we do, indeed, expect to be able to determine the application in April?” The planning officer confirmed that it is still the intention to determine the application in April, and agreed to follow-up privately
