Roddick praises work of Crocus Group

SNP MSP for the Highlands & Islands, Emma Roddick, has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament which recognises the efforts of the Crocus Group in supporting children and young people living with the grief of having lost a loved one.

It comes as the Crocus Group mark four years since the beginning of their work at Highland Hospice in Inverness. The group are planning to mark this milestone with the planting of a field of crocuses.

Commenting, Roddick said that “I could not possibly overstate the importance of the work done by Crocus Group to support bereaved children and young people. As someone with experience of bereavement in childhood, I know how important it is for children who have suffered the death of a loved one to be suitably supported…how important it is to restore their self-esteem and help them understand the grief they are going through. Crocus Group have been doing this for four years now and I hope to see them continue to work on this for many more.”
