SNP MSP delighted to see Creative Academy open

SNP MSP Emma Roddick has welcomed the opening of Wasps’ Inverness Creative Academy.  The former Inverness Royal Academy building on Midmills Road will now host the first creative hub in the Highlands.

The Highlands and Islands MSP has highlighted the partnership working which brought the project to this stage, including money from the Highland Council and Scottish Government.

She said:

“This is the result of the hard work and campaigning of many people who will now share my delight that the building is now being used as the Highlands’ first creative hub.

“It is a demonstration of good partnership working, with the Highland Council, Scottish Government, HIE and a number of funds coming together to create something wonderful.

“I know personally how much access to the arts can make a difference to a person’s life, and I am looking forward to hearing more about outreach work in schools across the Highlands.

“I cannot wait to see the building in person and I hope that it will provide endless opportunities to creatives in the Highlands and inspiration to many more.”
