Highlands and Islands MSP Emma Roddick is delighted with the announcement made today [29/11/21] by the Frist Minister regarding the doubling of the Scottish Child Payment.
This much-needed additional support will be incorporated into the forthcoming budget and will be available to apply for from the start of the next financial year; April 2022.
Roddick said:
“Doubling of the Scottish Child Payment is an absolutely needed step and one that will make such a difference in tackling child poverty.
“No family should have to struggle, it is vital to support children and give them a fair start to life.
“I am grateful to the First Minister and look forward to seeing all of the good that this will do”.
