Emma Roddick chats politics with Easter Ross pupils

Highlands and Islands MSP Emma Roddick today visited Alness Academy and Invergordon Academy to speak with and take questions from pupils in a visit facilitated by Developing the Young Workforce.

Emma, who attended Alness Academy as a youngster, said she enjoyed seeing the new building.

She said:

“When I was in school, I really had to fight for the right to take Higher Politics, so it is wonderful to see there is now a whole class learning it in Alness and in such an impressive new building.

“It was fantastic to see pupils at both schools who were engaged and interested in the democratic process, how politics affects them, and how they can affect politics.

“I got some really difficult and thoughtful questions thrown at me, so I hope to hear from some of them in future – maybe in the Chamber!”
