EMMA WELCOMES PROGRESS ON INVERNESS CASTLE REDEVELOPMENT – “EVERY TIME I GO, THE PICTURE BECOMES CLEARER”

Emma has visited Inverness Castle to see the latest progress on works to redevelop it as an attraction.

The castle, that was previously used as a court, is undergoing a £30 million transformation to turn it into an attraction and is due to reopen in 2025.

The Inverness Castle Experience will “celebrate the spirit of the Highlands”, taking visitors through the history of the region and up until the present day, also including a restaurant and shop.

Speaking on the progress, Emma said:

“I have loved watching this work develop over time; from meeting the team in the early stages, talking about collecting local stories to house in the new attraction, to now getting my second walkaround of the construction site.

“Things are already looking so different with works progressing quickly ahead of the anticipated opening in 2025.  Every time I go, the beautiful picture becomes clearer.  This time, I could just about see the busy restaurant in the new middle building, with views over the river, and I can’t wait to really visit it.

“The Inverness Castle Experience will be a great addition to Inverness, with so much for locals to enjoy – with preserved Highland history, a gift shop, exhibitions, and immersive experiences all currently being planned.”
