MARKING TWO YEARS SINCE THE ESCALATION OF RUSSIA’S ILLEGAL WAR AGAINST UKRAINE

It was an honour to speak on behalf of the Scottish Government at Saturday’s rally at George Square, marking two years since the escalation of Russia’s illegal war against Ukraine. Scotland continues to stand in solidarity with Ukraine, wishing for a speedy victory and ready to support displaced Ukrainians living here.

I joined the AUGB, Ukrainian Consul, Glasgow City Council, and colleagues Alison Thewliss MP and Anne McLaughlin MP in addressing the large crowd.

I hear every day about the incredible contributions of Ukrainian-Scots, from those who have been here many years, to those who arrived recently and don’t plan to stay. We want Scotland to be your home for as long as you need it to be.
