EMMA RODDICK MSP JOINS FIRST MINISTER FOR NATIONAL TREATMENT CENTRE OFFICIAL OPENING

Highlands & Islands MSP Emma Roddick attended the official opening of the NHS National Treatment Centre for the Highlands yesterday (Monday 12th June).

The centre, which has been funded by the Scottish Government, as part of a Scotland-wide network of healthcare facilities, was officially opened by First Minister Humza Yousaf at a ceremony this morning.

Expressing her delight at seeing how the centre had come together, Ms Roddick said the new facility would be transformational for patients across her region.

She said:

“It was fantastic to have the opportunity to attend the official opening of the National Treatment Centre for the Highlands and see how brilliantly the facility has come together.

“It was also great to have the First Minister here to officially open the centre and reaffirm the Scottish Government’s absolute commitment to ensuring everyone in Scotland has access to quality healthcare.

“The centre is a huge development for healthcare in the Highlands, having already provided life-changing treatment to hundreds of patients, and really will be transformational for so many folk.

“I want to say a huge thank you to the treatment centre staff for welcoming us in and I very much look forward to seeing the centre continue to improve healthcare for everyone here in the Highlands.”
