Islands MSP nominates Orkney charity for Scottish Charity Awards

Emma Roddick MSP talks with Zelda Bradley about the work that O.R.S.A.S. does

Highlands and Islands MSP Emma Roddick has nominated O.R.S.A.S. for the SCVO Charity Awards in the Campaign of the Year category. Roddick visited O.R.S.A.S. in October and heard about their Peedie Birds campaign, which she described as fantastic.

Roddick said:

“Particularly in an area which still struggles with outdated views on stigma and how appropriate it is to speak out about experiences of sexual assault and harassment, O.R.S.A.S. have managed to come up with a campaign that not only shines a light on the instances of this but is also accessible enough for even Orkney’s young people to engage with.

“They are making a huge difference to the experience of survivors in the Isles and they deserve to be recognised for this. I wish them all the best for the awards.”
